Sarah's therapeutic style: Sarah uses client-centered, strength-based and cognitive/ behavioral interventions. She will work with each client to develop their specific goals by breaking them down into short/long term goals with action steps. Homework may also be used to meet therapeutic goals. When appropriate, prayer and scripture are incorporated into sessions. Sarah believes the most important aspect of therapy is the relationship that she and the client build. All change, improvement, or progress flows from the trust and respect that is established in this relationship.

Sarah does not believe that as a counselor she is in any way superior to the client, or the greater element in the relationship. Rather, she is committed to working on the same level as the client as they pursue goals that they set as a team. She sees her role as a facilitator of change while the client’s present behaviors, beliefs, family system and worldview are explored. Sarah will assist the client in reevaluating his or her style of life, with the hope of achieving insight and meaningful change.
